You Have No Idea

You Have No Idea was on view at THE MISSION in Chicago in the spring of 2014.

The installation comprising this solo exhibition was the fourth iteration of A Language Older Than You, a series of interrelated sculptural installations spanning 2013 to 2015.

In an otherwise unlit space, a single spotlight hung above the installation's center: a wavering, kinetic interaction of objects including a pillow and threaded, meteorite-like castings, all of which were embedded with powerful neodymium rare earth magnets. After some time had passed and one's eyes adjusted to the darkness, the words You Have No Idea could be discerned in a web of threads stretching around the four perimeter walls.
