You Think Too Much

Chicago Art Department

2013

You Think Too Much was part of a group exhibition titled &again&again at Chicago Art Department in 2013.

The installation was the second of its kind in A Language Older Than You, a series of interrelated sculptural installations spanning 2013 to 2015.

Native plants and soil were transplanted into the gallery from just outside the installation's corner walls. Above the plant life, nails were hammered into the two adjacent walls to spell out the English turn-of-phrase "You think too much", with thread woven back and forth between each nail until every one was accounted for.
